In addition to a complete feed (pellet or meal), provide up to 25% grain mixture to promote free-range behavior of the chickens.

Always provide a mixed grain in addition to a complete feed, maximum 25% of the daily ration. Preferably spread it out to stimulate the chickens' free-range behavior. Offer chicken grit in addition to a mixed grain to support the digestion of the grains and as a source of calcium for the eggshells.

Chick Multimix is a complete feed. Chickseed Fine and Chickseed Coarse can be given to stimulate the free-range behavior of the chicks, only give it in addition to a complete feed and maximum 25% of the daily ration.

Kasper Faunafood has a range of feeds crumb, meal, pellet, mixes and mixed grain for chicks. Chicks can walk, eat and squeak immediately after they crawl out of the egg. Offer a bowl of water and feed from day 1. From the age of 4 days chicks start to produce digestive enzymes which allow them to digest the fine broken grains as well. Broken grains provide a good development of crop and gizzard. The chicks will spend the first few days mainly between the soft, warm down of the mother hen; after that they will start to scratch around more and more. The mother hen will protect her chicks as much as possible. Chicks learn to copy their mother's behavior there.

Mixes are feeds that consist of mixed grain, a vitamin-mineral pellet, grit and stomach gravel. They are therefore true all-in-one products. Only the chicken Smulmix is an exception, this is really a treat for your chickens.
